If you want to be a true Market Insider, you need to get familiar with the Parson’s Table, because few things roll everything that’s so lovely, local, and quirky about the city of High Point into a single experience better than this Market institution. Volunteer cooks and bakers have prepared homemade lunch fare and served it out of the First United Methodist Church basement at 512 N. Main St. for the duration of every spring and fall Market week since 1978. But on Friday the 5th, these volunteer angels are bringing the Table to the Point, and we are beyond excited. It’s like a church picnic and bake sale all in one place. If you truly want a taste of High Point, don’t pass this up! (A “pimennah” cheese sandwich, sweet tea, and a slice of pecan pie? Yes please! Er, um, that is to say yes please Ma’am.)
