We’re continuing our Market showroom previews with Hamilton Wrenn North, a neighborhood that can be pretty much summed up in two words: Legacy Brands. It’s hard to imagine any designer not having at least one of these on their must-visit list, so it’s worth understanding how this neighborhood is designed to make getting to them all as easy as possible.
The Hamilton Wrenn District is a vertical corridor north of the railroad tracks behind showplace and encompasses 4 (more or less) parallel streets: Steele, North Hamilton, Wrenn, and Main. The Steelyard showrooms featured here are mostly along North Hamilton, with the exception of 525 N Wrenn, which is just one street over. The whole stretch, if you started from IHFC (on Commerce Avenue) and ended at 525 N Wrenn is less than a mile or 20 minutes total walking time.
Where do you go from 525 N Wrenn? Wherever you tell their complimentary shuttle driver there to take you! (We’ll have some ideas for you when we cover the more neighborhoods in the next three weeks.)
Maybe it’s the “bar car” vibe of the Steelyard Airstream, maybe it’s in anticipation of 3rd Night, or maybe it’s just because it’s Friday, but we have classic cocktails on our minds, so we’ve decided to virtually shop our Hamilton Wrenn showrooms for bar-related items: stools, cabinets, a banquette, and a variety of cabinets and consoles that we think would make swell bars.
Let’s slip into a dry martini and get started, shall we?
This building has long been a high-end showroom destination, but since its recent expansion and renovation, it’s truly a required stop for interior designers. With a brand list that reads like a Who’s Who of prestigious High Point companies, it’s become one of Market’s anchor buildings and is the perfect first (or last!) stop along the Hamilton-Wrenn District corridor.
